The Origin of the Term Somatic Blueprint®
Ray did not develop the Somatic Blueprint® method in a vacuum. It was primarily developed in collaboration with Mary Jackson, Tara Blasco and Anna Chitty.
**Also add Wendy McCarty in for collaborating with Ray to begin BEBA.
Anna Chitty:
The term “Somatic Blueprint®” has a history. Anna Chitty coined the term in the mid 2010s. When she and Ray taught their course, Body into Being, Anna used the term, “Somatic Blueprint” often. During the T13 Foundation Training from 2016 to 2018, Ray frequently used the term to describe his work. Ray gave a challenge to the training group to make suggestions about what we should call the Castellino approach to the integrative work that includes the BEBA family therapy, small group therapy and pre and perinatal understanding. Gary Roba suggested that we call this work, Somatic Blueprint®.
An in depth understanding of Dr. Randolph Stone’s Polarity Therapy and Polarity Principle is central to the works that Ray and Anna teach. In his writings, Dr. Stone makes frequent references to the “blueprint.” Anna originated the term Somatic Blueprint to reference the primary energies that govern the origin of life and the fundamental connection to the resilience inherent in life itself. The energies of the Somatic Blueprint are the very forces that create, sustain and ultimately brings consciousness back to the source from which it came. Hence, the Somatic Blueprint® is the core resource for each of our lives and our capacity to grow into dynamic individual and social beings in families and groups.
Ray acknowledges Anna’s work in coining the term “Somatic Blueprint” and has abundant gratitude for her supporting him to use “Somatic Blueprint” to name this work.
